The Allego and EV charging highlights

German supermarket chain REWE chooses Allego at Green Building location

20 Jul 2016

As of now, customers of REWE in Teltow, Germany will be able to charge their electric vehicles while grocery shopping.

Allego have placed a charging station for electric vehicles at the new supermarket. Here, drivers have access to two charging points.

The charging station can be unlocked via an RFID card or via apps from various providers. This fits well with the sustainability concept – ‘REWE Green Building’ – of the supermarket. The REWE Green Buildings save more than 40 percent energy and are CO2 neutral. The supermarkets have efficient cooling systems, an eco-friendly construction and an environmentally friendly heating system. Also, in the supermarket and in the parking lot they work with LED lights.

Apart from clients of The New Motion, ACE Power Me and Lichtblick Fahrstrom are also customers of ChargeNow, Plug surfing, DKV, Novo Fleet, Heldele and eemobility van using the charging station – with more providers constantly joining. The costs vary depending on provider and are available on their price lists.

Harold Langenberg, Head of Strategy & Communications at Allego said about the partnership with REWE: “We are very pleased with the partnership with REWE. With our charging solutions we see ourselves both as a partner for drivers as well as providers of mobility. We want to make sustainable electric mobility accessible for everybody. With the Allego charging station for the new REWE Green Building in Teltow we make all kinds of new synergies possible in the field of sustainability.”
