The renowned Le Mans 24-hour race, the most prestigious endurance race in the world, is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year. This event is set to attract around half a million spectators! This year, Allego is sponsoring a 4,500 kilometer trip with 24 EVs from Denmark to Le Mans, driven by our colleagues and different kinds of impactful people from the EV-industry. On their way, they will exclusively be using Allego’s charging network.
24 Teams will be participating, symbolizing the 24 hour race of Le Mans. The convoy will travel approximately 4,500 kilometers, aiming to prove that long-distance journeys with electric vehicles are feasible for everyone. During the trip, the participants will be making pit stops at Allego charging locations only. Which means that the whole trip is driven on 100% renewable energy! Due to Allego’s broad European charging network, there is always a fast charger nearby. All the locations offer facilities that make each stop comfortable. The participants can have a rest, go for a coffee or some food and of course use the bathroom.
Allego’s primary objective for this event is to showcase the possibilities of EV travel and debunk common misconceptions. The narrative revolves around the idea that a single, fully charged vehicle is all that is required for an extensive journey, eliminating the need for hours of meticulous planning. By utilizing Allego’s broad European charging infrastructure, EV drivers can rely on a seamless experience, enabled by an intuitive app that calculates optimal charging times and locations based on the specific vehicle model. Hereby we show that, also with long distances, driving on 100% renewable energy is convenient and accessible for all types of EV’s and drivers.
