The price depends on the type of charger, its location and how you pay. Check the exact rate before you start in the Allego app or on the Pricing page.

Using a charging card from another mobility provider (MSP)? Your price may differ, since it’s your MSP that sets the final rate. Check with them if you’re unsure.

With Allego, you always see the price before you plug in, so there are no surprises wherever you charge in Europe.

You’ve got a few options, depending on the location:

The price you see is made up of a few things: the cost of using the grid, the charger itself, the energy supplied, and applicable taxes.

Fast and ultra-fast (DC) chargers need heavier infrastructure to deliver that extra power, which is more expensive to build and run than regular AC charging. That’s reflected in the price.

You can always check the rate for a specific charger in the Allego app before you start.

Both get you a better rate than charging without the app. Allego Smart is free and already saves you money. Allego Plus costs €9.99/month and lowers your rate further, worth it if you charge often enough that the monthly fee pays for itself.

Yes, every Allego rate you see, in the app or at the charger, already includes VAT. No extra costs added at checkout.

Allego places a temporary €40 hold on your payment method before your session starts. This confirms your payment method has sufficient funds, so your charging session isn’t interrupted partway through, similar to how a fuel station reserves an amount before you fill up.

Once your session ends, we charge the actual amount used and release the rest. If a session doesn’t start successfully, the full €40 is released automatically, usually within an hour, though some banks take up to 48 hours.

Rates can vary by charger type, location, and any subscription or roaming agreement you have. AC charging is generally cheaper than DC fast or ultra-fast charging, and local factors like energy costs or municipal tenders can also affect the price.

Check the current rate for any Allego charging station in the app before you start, so you always know what to expect.

The rate is set by whoever owns or operates the charging station. If it was installed through a public tender, the party that awarded the contract usually sets the conditions.

If you’re charging via an MSP, they may apply their own pricing on top, so check with them if your bill looks different from the standard Allego rate.

Paying directly through the app or by contactless payment gets you the standard Allego rate, shown before you start.

MSP cards can differ, since your provider may add their own subscription fees, roaming charges or mark-ups on top of what Allego charges them. That’s determined by your MSP, not by us, so reach out to them if something looks off.

Select any charger in the Allego app or on the Find Us map to see the current rate before you plug in. If extra fees apply, like time-based or occupancy charges, you’ll find those under Price Details too.

The price shown when you start is the price used to calculate your session, so there’s nothing to guess.

Open Charging History in the Allego app and select your session to see the energy used, cost, and any fees. Invoices land in your inbox too, with copies always available under Invoices in the app.
