Allego co-founds Charge France to accelerate EV Charging Infrastructure in France
13 February 2025

Today, Allego officially launches Charge France, a new association bringing together key players in the French EV charging ecosystem. This coalition of 13 charge point operators (CPOs) aims to advocate for the sector’s interests while promoting widespread electric vehicle adoption nationwide.

France is rapidly becoming a leader in ultra-fast EV charging, and Allego is proud to be at the forefront of this transformation. Charge France and Allego are dedicated to shaping the future of EV infrastructure in France and show Allego’s commitment to driving sustainable mobility and expanding high-quality charging solutions for French drivers.

Charge France: A Collective Commitment to EV Infrastructure

Charge France represents 13 CPOs already investing over €1 billion in public charging infrastructure. Together, these operators have installed over 2,000 ultra-fast charging stations across France, equivalent to 10,000 ultra-fast charging points. The scale of this rollout has been unprecedented, with the majority of these stations deployed in just 24 months, a record time that positions France as Europe’s best-equipped country for ultra-fast charging.

This is only the beginning. By 2028, Charge France members will invest an additional €3 billion, bringing the total industry investment to €4 billion. This massive expansion will further strengthen France’s charging network, supporting the country’s energy transition and the shift towards zero-emission mobility.

Allego’s role in Charge France

As one of Charge France’s founding members, Allego has been elected to the association’s board, which consists of five industry leaders dedicated to shaping the future of EV infrastructure in France.

Allego’s election underscores its influence and expertise in developing efficient, driver-centric EV charging solutions. Allego is committed to ensuring that charging infrastructure in France remains accessible, reliable, and future-proof.

Adrien Simonnet, Head of Sales and Network Development of Allego France, leads this charge and has been appointed a Charge France board member.

“France has made incredible progress in expanding its ultra-fast charging infrastructure, but to keep this momentum, we need strong collaboration between CPOs, policymakers, and industry stakeholders,” says Adrien. “Charge France will play a vital role in ensuring EV drivers have the infrastructure they need while also advocating for the right regulatory and financial conditions to sustain long-term growth.”

The Road Ahead

The launch of Charge France marks an essential milestone for the industry. With Allego actively shaping its direction, the association will advocate for policies that enhance infrastructure investment, improve drivers’ charging experience, and accelerate France’s transition to clean mobility.

By working together, Allego and its fellow Charge France members ensure that France remains a leader in accessible, high-quality, ultra-fast EV charging, paving the way for a fully electrified future.
